The Word Deliverance
Oxford[1] Dictionary defines “Deliverance” as;
- Noun the action of being rescued or set free.
“prayers for deliverance” Similar: liberation, release, freeing, rescue, emancipation, salvation, redemption
- a formal or authoritative utterance. Similar: utterance, statement, pronouncement, declaration
Exorcism: prayer or command to free an individual possessed by an evil spirit.
Deliverance: prayer or command to free a person who is oppressed or dominated by evil spirit (not possessed).
Saved, Healed, Delivered: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save [sozo] that which was lost.” —Luke 19:10
Delivered: They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed. [sozo] —Luke 8:36
